Heather Morrison is the Founder and President of Morrison Architectural Planning Strategies, LLC. She is an architectural strategist and project manager with a twenty-two year record of successfully managing large-scale architectural and construction projects. Recent high-profile developments on which Heather was an integral team member include One Bennett Park, Ann & Robert Lurie Children's Hospital, New City development, and the Virgin Hotel Chicago. Years of experience driving large projects through complex regulatory environments taught her the critical importance of an integrated design and development plan that streamlines development projects from the beginning of the process.

Prior to his leadership of MAP Studio, Tim worked for more than 35 years at the prestigious Holabird & Root architecture firm in Chicago. His experience is a diverse array of programming and architectural design projects, including several academic and hospital additions and renovations. For the past several years, he has served as a professional code compliance reviewer for the City of Chicago. Since 2003, he has reviewed over 400 projects for various medium to large/complex public and private projects located throughout Chicago, including several high-profile projects such as Trump Tower, Ann and Robert H Lurie Children’s Hospital, the Art Institute of Chicago's Modern Wing, Northwestern Memorial Hospital New Prentice Women's Hospital, and renovations at the Palmer House Hotel and U.S. Cellular Field.

George Guarino III has previously worked at Skidmore Owings & Merrill (SOM) and Solomon Cordwell Buenz (SCB). Prior to graduating, George participated in the management and design of multiple community-engaged design projects and served as Editor-in-Chief of CRIT, the internationally distributed publication of the American Institute of Architecture Students. He believes that an intimate knowledge of codes, regulations, and entitlements is a powerful tool for the architect and is key to regularly executing quality design.

Tim Barton is a land use practitioner specializing in zoning and historic preservation issues. Tim has extensive government experience through his work with the City of Chicago. He was directly involved in updating the comprehensive Chicago Zoning Code revisions in 2004. He also worked with the Zoning Board of Appeals, reviewing hundreds of cases involving such matters as taverns, public places of amusements, drive-throughs, commercial parking facilities, and nonconforming signs. Tim was also the director of research for the Commission on Chicago Landmarks where he oversaw the landmark designation of historic buildings and districts.
In his current practice, Tim has continued to work on cases before the Zoning Board of Appeals, providing expert testimony on zoning uses. He has also provided technical advice for lawsuits involving eminent domain and environmental nuisance issues; consulted on National Park Service rehabilitation standards for hotels in the Loop and River North area.

Brandon Clementi has previously managed operations at concert venues in Madison, Wisconsin, and organized conferences for the University of Wisconsin. Brandon's love for organization, planning, and serving communities drives his enthusiasm for permit expediting with MAPS.

After 18 years of service with Matrix Engineering, she is well versed in all things administrative in the AEC industry. She is the office manager for both MAP Strategies and Artman Studio.
Director of Urban Planning & Technology
Steven Vance is an urban planner and web application developer. He created Chicago Cityscape, a real estate information service and MAPS Tracker, to notify MAPS clients of new building violations. He has worked for the Chicago Department of Transportation, Active Transportation Alliance, written for Streetsblog Chicago and other publications, and created websites for several organizations including Landmarks Illinois.

Spencer Blaney is a licensed architect and project manager for MAP Strategies. He has worked on project types ranging from multifamily residential towers and commercial build-outs to high-end residential projects, and has managed the permitting for multiple projects in over ten states. Spencer earned a Master of Architecture from Ball State University, and is an active member of ULI's young leaders.
Mac is a student at Tulane University where he studies Political Economy and History, and will graduate in Spring of 2019. He has assisted with several marketing campaigns and assists in bookkeeping and day to day contact with City Hall officials.

Consulting Structural Engineer, S.E., R.A.
With over thirty year experience in Structural Engineering, Aphrodite is the Founder and President of a1a Design Group Corporation, where she is using her seventeen year experience as a Structural Peer Reviewer to conduct reviews of projects to be permitted in the City of Chicago. She also conducts structural engineering reviews through the Direct Developer Services and Developer Services processes of the City of Chicago Department of Buildings, as part of a team of reviewers, where her past experience as a DOB structural reviewer has been indispensable.
Aphrodite works closely with the professionals of each project in order to complete a thorough structural engineering review, issuing constructive comments to the structural engineer of record, with the ultimate goal of meeting the client’s scheduled timeframe.

Accessibility Reviewer; RA, NCARB, LEED AP, Loeb Fellow
With over twenty-five years experience in Architecture and Urban Design, Denise is the founder of Denise R. Arnold LLC, where she is using knowledge of accessibility codes and laws garnered when she was the Program Director of the Architectural Services Unit of the City of Chicago’s Mayor’s Office for People with Disabilities, to conduct accessibility code peer reviews. She provides municipalities, developers, architects and building owners best practices on projects located in Chicago and nationwide, in various stages of design and construction, on universal design and accessibility codes and law.
Denise works closely with the professionals of each project in order to complete a thorough accessibility code review, issuing constructive comments to the architect of record, with the ultimate goal of meeting the intent of disability laws like the Americans with Disabilities Act, Fair Housing, and the Illinois Accessibility Code.

As principal of Jose de Avila and Associates, Jose is driven by the philosophy that excellence in engineering begins with designs that provide healthy, safe, stimulating, and comfortable environments. With bachelor degrees in both mechanical and electrical engineering and a master degree in electrical engineering, Jose combines common sense with a thorough understanding of theory. With a Master in Business Administration, he is keenly aware of the importance of cost control, coordination, schedule adherence, and quality assurance. From experience gathered over twenty years with his firm, and as a former Director of Engineering at Holabird & Root and a former Associate Partner at Skidmore Owings & Merrill, Jose has a vast knowledge of the intricacies involved in the design of systems for projects that vary widely in size, type and complexity.
Jose has a thorough understanding of the Chicago Electrical Code, and was selected by the project manager for the new Modern Wing of the Art Institute of Chicago to provide consulting electrical engineering designs for the project's infrastructure. Also, for approximately ten years as a member of two review teams, Jose has been providing electrical code reviews for permit applicants to the City of Chicago’s Department of Buildings.

Ashraf is a detail-oriented engineer whose expertise is in designing building mechanical systems. Over the past 13 years, Ashraf has been involved in designing heating, ventilation and air conditioning, plumbing and fire protection systems. He designed mechanical systems for different types of buildings including commercial, residential, health care, institutional buildings and industrial facilities. He is also experienced in municipal pump station and power generation plant design.
Prior to joining EnerCentric Engineering Solutions, Ashraf served as a Senior Mechanical Engineer at Holabird & Root and before that he served as a Lead Mechanical Engineer at KJWW Engineering Consultants.
Ashraf interest is energy conservation and sustainability. He served as a LEED and energy specialist and life cycle analyst on many new and renovated projects. He performed several mechanical systems and energy assessment studies for different types of buildings.

Robert Giurato has more than 40 years of experience in the civil engineering profession. His work includes significant experience in transportation and rail. Many of his highway and site development projects have required coordination with the local rail organization. His design experience includes geometrics, plan review, grading, drainage, specification writing, cost estimating, public meetings, and report writing.

As an integral Member of Richard Hansen and Associates, Tom has 42 years of experience in fire protection engineering. Tom’s areas of expertise include building and fire code consulting, fire and life safety condition assessment, plan review for new construction, fire systems failure investigations, complex fire and explosion investigations and natural and propane gas distribution. The integration of fire protection, structural fire resistance, and life safety systems in the project’s overall form and function often results in lower initial cost and improves occupant life safety. In addition to traditional code compliance, preparing solutions that meet code intentions is part of his experience. In Chicago, he has appeared before the Committee on Standards and Tests and successfully presented "out of the box" solutions.
