Some of the faces on Chicago's City Council will be changing on May 20, when a group of 12 recently-elected candidates will be sworn in as new aldermen.

The Chicago Sun-Times has photos and biographies of all 50 incumbent and new alders.

In the 1st Ward, which covers parts of Wicker Park, West Town, and Logan Square, Daniel La Spata replaces Alder. Proco "Joe" Moreno.

In the 16th Ward, which covers parts of Chicago Lawn, Englewood, Gage Park, New City, and West Englewood, Stephanie Coleman replaces Alder. Toni Foulkes.

In the 20th Ward, which covers parts of New City, Woodlawn, Englewood, Washington Park, and Greater Grand Crossing, Jeanette Taylor replaces Alder. Willie Cochran, who is retiring.

In the 22nd Ward, which covers parts of South Lawndale, Garfield Ridge, and North Lawndale, Michael Rodriguez replaces Alder. Ricardo Muñoz.

In the 25th Ward, which covers all of Lower West Side (Pilsen), Near West Side (West Loop), Armour Square (Chinatown), McKinley Park, Near South Side, and the Loop, and a small part of the West Loop, Byron Sigcho-Lopez replaces Alder. Danny Solis, who retired.

In the 31st Ward, which covers parts of Belmont Cragin, Hermosa, Portage Park, Logan Square, and Avondale, Felix Cardona, Jr. replaces Milagros "Milly" Santiago.

In the 33rd Ward, which covers much of Irving Park, Avondale, Albany Park, and North Center, Rosanna Rodríguez Sanchez replaces Alder. Deb Mell. She is asking for a discovery recount.

In the 39th Ward, which covers parts of North Park, Forest Glen, Albany Park, Irving Park, Jefferson Park, and Norwood Park, Samantha Nugent replaces Alder. Margaret Laurino, who is retiring.
